Bodega Del Rio Elorza Verum Chardonnay, Patagonia
Bodega Del Rio Elorza Verum Chardonnay, Patagonia
This Patagonian Chardonnay definitely has Petit Chablis vibes so for ABC drinkers (Anything but Chardonnay) this wine could be the one to change your perception of this classic grape.
A cool climate wine it has a medium body and subtle notes of toast and vanilla on the nose. There are lovely integrated tropical fruit, pineapple and stone fruit characters on the palate. This is where this beautiful white wine exhibits richness but also depth and balance. The juice from the hand-harvested grapes is oak aged for 6 months. With refreshing acidity and a slight minerality on the palate this wine is elegant and a great wine for enjoying with food.
Food Pairing: This wine will pair perfectly with salmon and sea bass, pasta dishes as well as turkey and chicken, a lovely accompaniment for your Sunday roast.

ABOUT THE PRODUCER
Patagonia is Argentina’s most southerly wine region and for winemakers it offers a cooler climate, numerous hours of sun and abundant water. In this privileged setting boutique wine producer Bodega Del Río Elorza was born, a realisation of a combined dream between two families - the ‘Del Rio’ family and the ‘Elorza’ family. The style here displays a distinct homage to Burgundy with a celebration of delicacy, elegance and pure fruit expression.
The vineyard is 18 years old with a density of 5,500 plants per hectare. The soils are clay loam with a high iron content. The training system is unilateral cord and guyot. The yield of 9,000 kilos per hectare is hand harvested.
