Meet a bold expression of Albariño like you’ve never tasted it before. Martín Códax OW is an experimental, skin-contact wine from one of Galicia’s most respected producers. This orange wine is made by macerating Albariño grapes with their skins (“macerado coas peles”) giving this wine a whole new personality.
The result? A wine with structure, texture, and complexity: juicy citrus, dried apricot, wild herbs and a touch of saline minerality from its Atlantic roots. Aged for 8 months on lees, it’s rich and characterful while staying fresh and vibrant. As they put it: “branco con alma de tinto”—a white wine with the soul of a red.
Food Pairing:
Perfect with rich seafood dishes, grilled octopus, spicy tapas, or Manchego cheese. Also great with vegetarian plates like roasted cauliflower or tahini-dressed salads.
Tasting Notes:
Amber-hued with notes of citrus peel, chamomile, peach skin and subtle tannins. The finish is long, slightly savoury and bone-dry.

Bodegas Martín Códax was founded in 1985 and was named after the most known Galician troubadour whose medieval poems, the oldest of Galician-Portuguese language with the original music, are preserved. In the poems, the troubadour sings to love and to the sea of our coastline.
Since it’s founding, Bodegas Martín Códax has grown and developed; always supporting its people, its land and its culture. The culture is promoted in more than 50 countries over the world.
A project that started with the dream and efforts of a group of winegrowers is now a reality and it is this reality which has let Bodegas Martín Códax become a symbol of Galician wines inside or outside of our borders/country.
