White Castle Vineyards, 1581 Fortified Welsh Wine
White Castle Vineyards, 1581 Fortified Welsh Wine
This fortified red wine from Monmouthshire-based White Castle vineyard can't be classed as 'Port' because it's not Portuguese, but it's definitely 'port style' and made in the same way as Late Bottled Vintage Port.
Named after the year that White Castle's Croft Barn was built, 1581 has an intense colour and powerful aromas of bramble and blackcurrant, finished with a soft palate.
Harvested in 2019, only 525 bottles of this unique Welsh wine were produced, so if you're looking for a unique gift or something a little bit special, pick up a bottle of White Castle Vineyard's 1581.
